As graintees of the Mandela Day service ,Alain Irankunda and Willy Kamugisha who are both Mandela washington fellowship alumni could not wait for the time to arrive so as to cascade the knowledge harvested in the Yali program by training sign language interpreters .It is worth noting that Continental plus company led by Alain has already provided two volunteer Sign language interprepters at the National TV (RTNB).These latter were very instrumental in training others who will be potentially used in the future as interpeters .The training was a howling success.different methods were used in order to ensure that the targeted group-deaf people are able to decipher the signs used.At the end of the 3 day training ,30 trainees were able to receive their certificates.Given the scope of the work,continental plus envisions to train as many sign language interpreters as possible.The goal is that no single deaf person should feel ununderstood ,or left out.Continental plus is committed to fostering inclusion and giving access to information the deaf community in Burundi.
